We can finally say for now that embattled Governor Eddie Panlilio’s days of stay at the capitol are numbered. Yes, this is the moment of truth as Comelec-en banc declared Governor Lilia G. Pineda won via landslide her re-election bid as duly reelected governor of the Province of Pampanga.
With the way things are going in the May 10 gubernatorial race, all indications speak that Panlilio is no longer needed to stay even a minute longer at the capitol. The Cabalens have already spoken through their official ballots last May 10.
I think for now, Panlilio is hoping against hope that a great blizzard will hit the official result but his might can never prevent the inevitable things to happen- his rise and imminent fall at the capitol.
Panlilio who lost not only his vocation, is now losing his gubernatorial seat from his possession together with his most loyal fans. He has also lost the confidence of the people whom he pledged to serve- the Kapampangans.
Actually, he did not win the May 10 elections, but he has been lucky to have possessed the position that belongs to Nanay Baby.
However, with the turn of events and results of May 10 polls, Panlilio cannot fool himself that he does not worry. Maybe, he is now suffering from sleepless nights of anxiety. I think he swirls like a top. Like a rabbit, he hops. Maybe, he is now nervous and mad. He is afraid he will snap.
However, he pretends to be relaxed and okay but deep inside, I think, at the bottom of his heart, there is a thing like a rat that makes his chest trembles like a pat. For sure he is in panic mode.
Ing tutu na nini, paki-isip ke y Panlilio. Eka yu pu sana, paisaul king tuksung pasibayu. Nga ng sasabi nitang sirkular ng Apu Ceto, ing pari ali ya dapat maging pulitiku para ibayu ne ing yatu.
The landslide victory of Pineda over Panlilio is a manifestation that the Kapampangans are politically alive and cannot be fooled by false hopes and good script of broken promises and lip service like story telling a lie and nothing but a lie. He should admit and recall that the truth will set him free and will let him stay out of the capitol- his downfall.
In this part of kapampangan history, Lolita Hizon learns and teaches us that we should not curve an icon out of a rotten wood; do not curve an icon out of ice, or else it will just melt before our eyes. “ Quo vadis” after this? King Kapampangan, “Eta gagawang kamulangan, uling datang ing aldo kekata yang pagsisisyan. Kaibat na nita, ala ta ng puntalan. King termino da ring bakla. “Tsupa ngeni, tsupa nandin kaibat miras yaring tsugi bukas.”
The people who overwhelmingly cast their votes in favor of Nanay Baby are also hoping against hope that Pampanga will change for better governance.
For me, this May 10 election is the moment of truth for the kapampangans to be given the chance for better good governance and for better Pampanga.
Congratulations Nanay Baby for giving the Kapampangans a new hope to live with your landslide victory.
